Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Last week’s sports story “Spikers Defeat Occidental, Move Into First Place Tie,” suggested that the local crowd intimidated Oxy with nasty remarks.

The story seemed to say the crowd was too rowdy. Not so! We were simply giving our team members that “home court advantage” they are supposed to have.

We, the “rowdy La Verne crowd,” were displaying some school spirit I thought was non-existent. Even volleyball players thanked us for our support after the game. I hope our school spirit will continue and give all our athletic teams the support they all so desperately need.
