Women’s Tennis
ULV’s tennis team, with four returning players, is looking toward a promising season. Senior Robin Mccorkle and sophomore Tracy Katsuren each play the number one and two spots. Junior Kay Rupel and freshman Anastasia Desatoff play the three and four spots respectively. Freshman Paula Resendez plays five and freshman Annette Norris is in the sixth slot. Against Mt. St. Mary’s College, the lady Leos were led to a 6-3 win in the match with vic­tories by Mccorkle, 6-2, 6-3, Rupel, 7-5,3-6,6-2, Desatoff, 6-2,6-3, and Resendez, 2-6,6-1,6-2, in singles. Victories in doubles came from Resendez and Desatoff, 6-2,6-1, also from Katsuren and Nicklen, 3-6,6-2 and a 7-0 in a tiebreaker in the third set.

Track
The La Verne men’s and women’s track teams will run at the Redlands All­-Comers Meet today and in a meet against Caltech and Whittier at Caltech. The Leos will be led by returners Kirk Dean, Barry Tyler, Hosea Lewis, Moise Garrett, Greg Sosnovsky, Dion Powell, Kevin Hepner and newcomers Brian Ortell, Jon Marsh, Ted Hutt and Mike Speed. The women’s team will be led by Wendy Davis, Karen Lotton, Tricia Wright and Mia Blakely.
