Golf

The University of La Verne golf team now holds a 10-4 record. Last Wednes­day the team beat Occidental College, 404-424. This gives the team an 8-3 record in the Southern California Inter-Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Today, the team will face UC San Diego away.

Women’s softball

With a record of 13-11, the softball team will travel today to take on UC San Diego at 2 p.m. Tomorrow at noon, they will challenge the University of San Diego. The team beat Claremont Monday in a double header, 5-1, 5-4. Last Satur­day the team lost to Southern California College, 4-5, 6-7

Men’s tennis

The netters will travel to Claremont tomorrow to play at 9:30 a.m. Last Wednes­day the team lost to Christ College, 2-7. Last Friday the Leos were shut out by Pomona, 0-9.

Women’s tennis

The lady Leos were shut out last Friday, 0-9, against Pomona. They will travel to Whittier College today for a 2 p.m. game.

The first place Leopards began the series against the second place Stags at Ben Hines Field on May 5, winning 9-4 and celebrating eight seniors on their senior day.  

Leopards venture into SCIAC tournament

With the No. 1 seed in SCIAC, the La Verne baseball team will now advance to the first round of playoffs against the No. 4 Cal Lutheran Kingsmen on Thursday at Ben Hines Field after clinching the 2023 SCIAC regular season championship.
