The University of La Verne Women’s Tennis Team is off to a good start for the 1989 season with a win against the University of Redlands. It won 7-2, including the doubles matches, in its first conference match.

Players returning this year are Maureen Kaiwi, Julie Vitale and Alissa Goedhart. Kari Pucci, Jamie Hutchinson and Myung Kim are the new players on the team. Tracy Katsuren, who is currently injured, will be back in March. She was the number one player last year.

Coach Nancy Blickenstaff was satisfied with the team as a whole and individually.

The lady Leos will be playing Occidental College on Wednesday, Feb. 15 and Whittier College on Friday, Feb. 18. Both matches will be held here.
