I have come to the conclusion that there are some laws in California that are obsolete, archaic and otherwise forgotten. These are laws that nobody really cares for; laws which police would rather ignore and not bother with. Take oral sex for instance. This very taboo and unspeakable act that many people partake in everyday is illegal in more than half of our nation’s states. Why?
You would have to be nuts to even consider making the act of oral sex illegal. Who came up with this idea anyway? For those of you unfamiliar with your history of the illegal act of oral sex in California, I will update you: It has been illegal in the state of California since 1946, when the Governor declared that oral sex is a form of sodomy. Sodomy is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “noncoital and especially anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex.”
This has to be the most ridiculous and outrageous law ever put in to play. Everyone knows that many people chose to engage in oral sex in their normal and routine love-making appetites. Why would you ban something like this, especially when most participate in this activity in the comfort and privacy of their own homes? What is a trooper or law enforcement officer going to do if he catches you in the middle of your delightful oral copulation? Say “Hold it right there buddy. That’s illegal. You’re under arrest?” My foot.
This and other laws that govern what we can and cannot do in the privacy of our own homes are not only idiotic, but wrong. The people who believe and support this law are asinine and illogical.
How can anyone, let alone, peace officers, possibly barge into your home and arrest you for partaking in oral sex? They cannot. The police obviously have many other important businesses to attend to. I mean, how many police stings have you seen in the past year, or decade for that matter, dedicated wholly to stopping the act of oral sex between two consenting people? Probably none, because there have not been any.
I believe that oral sex is a gift from God and people should be allowed to participate in this activity if we so choose to. I mean, you do not actually think that God did not mean for us to not partake in this activity, do you? Of course not. The penis and vagina are body parts given to us by God to use and not hide.
Too many times, the government has some policy or rule that makes absolutely no sense. This is one of them. Proponents of this measure will say that oral sex is wrong, not meant to be and otherwise gross. But what is really gross here are the people who actually believe this.
Supporters of this measure will also say that oral copulation is an immoral act or that to prohibit oral sex has biblical ties that make people not want to engage in such a thing. Others will simply say or use the argument that the act of oral sex is an unsafe sexual act where infections and viruses breed and foster on the very people who choose to participate in the act.
I say “phooey” to these claims, all of which are not true. Nothing is wrong with oral sex and I am willing to bet that more than half of this school’s population agrees with me. There is nothing immoral about oral sex nor does the Bible prohibit such an act.
This law not only needs to be repealed in the state of California, but in every other state. Let people do whatever they want to do. Oral sex does not hurt anyone, especially the people who engage in this transaction.
The law forbidding anyone to have oral sex is a law that no one really cares about, so why not make it lawful? The act of oral sex is a legitimate and valid act that should be allowed between the people that want to engage in it. Oral sex is none of anyone’s business except those who are doing it and the government should not intervene with something that is hurting no one.
