What do you think is the most important issue in this election?

“Proposition 187 because tax payers are paying money for illegal criminals to get education in the United States. We are paying for these people that are not even citizens or are illegal residents here when our education has already been cut and we have to think about that we have to pay more for these other people." —Susan Cho, freshman	“For California, the most important issue is Prop. 187. It concerns so many issues with education and welfare and in California we have a lot of immigrants. I believe it is a political ploy of Governor Wilson to boost his ratings. “Proposition 187. It’s playing on the people’s racial tendencies. Trying to deny that it is racist is ridiculous. Why aren’t they after the people who are reaping benefits out of the welfare system, who don’t deserve it? Why are the immigrants in the limelight?” —Natalie Lehr, sophomore		“From what I understand there’s a lot of talk about Prop. 187, to me it seems to be one of the biggest issues basically because it’s not giving Mexican American people a chance to be who they are in the American society.” —Linza Williams, sophomore
