Dear Editor,

You go, David Sutton! Your column on Feb. 17, “Large and in Charge,” was right on. For those of us who live life “A Little Larger,” your words are sweet indeed. For years larger people that I know (myself included) have talked about all the verbal slamming they have received as children (let’s face it, kids can be cruel) and, even as adults, the occasional snicker behind the back or words to your face. I have lived on this planet for over 23 years and just recently did I realize that no one is perfect. Not you, not me and not Cindy Crawford. I think what matters most is the person you are inside. Not how much you bench press, which elite athletic meat market you belong to, or what size jeans you wear.

When I get up in the morning I look at myself in the mirror (all 195 pounds of me), I still love what I see. Size isn’t an issue. Each person must ask themselves, are you at peace with yourself? Are you comfortable in the space you occupy? Are you at home in your own skin? Do you like yourself with all its faults? In its entirety? What do you see when you look in the mirror each morning? How very sad if you are not happy with what you were given. How sad to think being human is not enough. Thank you David, for reminding me how very human I am.
