Dr. Aghop Der-Karabetian, professor of psychology and chair of the Behavioral Science Department, has been appointed Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Der-Karbetian has been a faculty member since 1980 and has been active on numerous university committees and task forces since coming to ULV.

He received the Excellence in Teaching award in 1990 and has continued his research and writing during this time.

He will assume the duties of assistant dean on July 1, 1995 and will continue to serve the Behavioral Science Department on a half-time basis.

“I am quite pleased that Aghop has accepted the invitation to join me in the dean’s office.

“It is my hope that the two of us will be able to serve the arts and sciences faculty, its students and the University in a positive manner,” said John Gingrich, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
