Sigma Kappa’s Annual Charity Ball, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association, will be held tomorrow night at the Pasadena Hilton. The ball will start at 6:30, with dinner at 7:30.
Described by Sigma Kappa President Aubrye Harris as a “formal with additional activities to benefit the cause,” the charity event will include a raffle and guest appearances by celebrities.
Although the Sigma Kappa sorority has been trying to book celebrities such as Chuck Henry, Shelly Fabares and the cast of “ER,” who support the Alzheimer’s Association and similar organizations, Harris said that “it’s still up in the air when it comes to celebrity appearances.”
She added that “celebrity schedules are so chaotic that getting them there is tough.”
She emphasized that family and friends of Sigma Kappa members have been invited to the ball because they have helped with the organization of the event by donating the 30 raffle prizes that will be given away throughout the evening.
“Our families help out so much [with the event], that we want to be able to thank them while they are there,” she said.
Tickets for the Sigma Kappa Charity Ball will be available from Harris today. The cost is $30 for an individual ticket or $60 per couple.
