America and Russia: Partners For Peace or rivals? Search For Peace in the Middle East, and America’s Quest For Peace in Bosnia are just a few of the topics scheduled to be addressed at the Saturday, Feb. 24, Rotary International Peace Conference held here at the University of La Verne.
The one-day conference “American’s Peace Priorities will be given under the auspices of the Rotary International District 5300 and organized by the Rotary Club of La Verne.
“Our goal is to have peace and understanding. We are the goodwill people of the world,” said Dr. Garbis Der Yeghiayan, chairman for the conference.
Speakers include: Dr. Peter K. Bechtold, Director of Near Eastern and North African Studies, Foreign Service Institute, U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C. ; Colonel Carl W. Reddel, permanent professor and head of the Department of History, United States Air Force Academy , Colorado Springs, Colorado; Dr. Richard H. Dekmejian, professor of political science at the University of Southern California; Dr. Stanley Rosen, professor of political science at USC; and Dr. Thomas Harvey, dean of the School of Organizational Management at ULV.
The conference will be chaired by Dr. Yeghiayan, International Service Chair of District 5300, professor of management and president of Mashdots College.
This mini course in world peace will have an approximated audience of 200 people. The cover charge is $25 per person, $5 for students.
