‘Evening Under the Stars’

The Walt Disney Company and Hafif Family Foundation, through the National Latino Communications Center, present “An Evening Under the Stars” this Sunday, from 3-9 p.m., in the city of La Verne.

Special guests for the celebration include Los Lobos & Quetzalcoatl, as well as Gilbert Esquivel.

Merchandise will be sold at the event and credit cards will be accepted. All sales will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. For information, please call (818) 405-0137.

Cigar Nite

Warehouse Pizza will host the La Verne Firefighters’ “Cigar Nite” on Tuesday, Oct. 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

For a price of $30 pre-sale, or $40 at the the door, participants will be given cigars, a T-shirt, and a chance to win the raffle. The event promises lots of fun, and also includes discounted pizza and beverages.

All proceeds will benefit the La Verne Fire Christmas Program. Call (909) 596-5997 for ticket information.

‘Thriller’

The Afrikan-American Student Alliance (AASA) welcomes students to be a part of the “Thriller” remake, ULV style.

Costumes, make-up, music, dancing in the streets and prize money are included in the event. In addition, AASA welcomes any male who feels he has the potential of Michael Jackson.
