The University of La Verne’s Associated Student Federation (ASF) Forum met in the West Dining Room Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 8:38 a.m. Forum members voted on proposals from last week’s meeting.
Relief Efforts
On behalf of the University of La Verne student body, the Forum allocated $250 as a donation for the countries of Honduras and Nicaragua. The money will be given to Campus Ministries to contribute to relief efforts in the territories.
Holiday Dinner
“Winter Wonderland,” as this year’s Holiday Dinner has been themed, is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the Student Center gymnasium. Seating for the event will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the program and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. The dinner is of semi-formal attire and is free of charge to traditional undergraduate students, faculty and administration.
As an event for the entire school community, the Forum has also invited students from the CAPA program to the Dinner. CAPA students, however, will be asked to pay a small fee for the event.
Holiday Dance
Following an extensive discussion and the break of a tie at vote, the Forum has voted to sponsor a dance following the Holiday Dinner and lighting of the Christmas tree. The dance, again, will be of no cost to students who would like to attend and will be held in the Student Center TV area.
