An open letter to Jerry Falwell:
Dear Jerry,
I find it harder and harder to have any respect for you. Your latest cause has been the outing of the cruel, wicked, e-vile and sure enough to damn the souls of your children to hell, Teletubbies.
I must have missed KNBC’s unnecessary team coverage of the homosexual color convention where it was decided that purple was deemed the color for homosexuals.
Tell me Jer, was it also decided at this convention that the triangle was the symbol of the homosexuals. Therefore, in an attempt to corrupt and sway the children of the world the e-vile Teletubbies would be the propaganda tool that was used to spread the lifestyle.
Apparently, the Egyptians were all also homosexuals because they created the huge, phallic, triangular pyramids, and, of course, everyone who travels to Egypt becomes a homosexual, especially the children.
As we all know, the children are our future; teach them well and let them lead the way, yadda-yadda-yadda. Apparently so impressionable are the children, that their sexual identity can be determined by the television on the Corleone family esque media cartel that is PBS.
If it is so easy to influence the way children behave, then why do not we use television to program those little demon spawns how to not hate, how to not discriminate or judge, how to not be violent?
If television is all powerful, then why can’t we do a better job of getting God’s house (the entire body of Christianity) on the same accord?
Is it not the duty of all of us who call ourselves Christians to spread the Gospel of Jesus and try to save peoples souls? Maybe I missed the verse that said it is more prudent to turn potential Christians away from the church by always telling them how evil they are, how they are not worthy of forgiveness, how they are damned for being who they are.
Jerry, I do not recall seeing you on the television when Matthew Shepard was basically stoned to death a few months ago. However, because that crime was so close to Old Testament justice that I guess it was not that bad and besides, it was only one of those evil “fags” anyway, right?
As a believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I am so sick and tired of alleged Christians preaching hate and foolishness all in the name of the Lord. Shame on you! The ministry of Christ was one that was not based in hate; it was a ministry of love. Jesus did not call Mary Magdalene an unworthy wretched whore and tell her to go to Hell. No, he helped her see the error of her ways and he was able to save her soul through love.
I do not mean to judge Jerry Falwell, I am just sick of him judging everyone and everything in the world all under the pretense of God and Church.
I am not perfect, so I do not expect Falwell to be perfect. However, I do expect him to decide if he is going to be a social and political pundit or if he is going to be a minister.
I do not know what causes people to be gay. Is it predestination, biological or psychological? I do not know, but I would be willing to bet that it is not the Teletubbies.
If Jerry Falwell has a problem with gay people, then fine. I do not subscribe to the current wind of political correctness that says people cannot believe and feel what they want, but do not put God, Jesus or the Christian Church in front of your own agenda. What do I know, I could be wrong and that is my humble opinion.
