Teach In

Members of the University of La Verne Peace Studies program will sponsor a teach in on Monday, April 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Quad.

The teach in will allow the ULV community to discuss the issues currently taking place in the Balkans. Presenters of the program will include faculty and students knowledgeable on the historical, religious and political aspects of the current Kosovo situation.

Members of the ULV community are encouraged to take part in this informative event, and discussion on the matter will follow the presentation.

Appreciation Day

Merchants of Old Town La Verne have designated Saturday, April 24, as “Customer Appreciation Day.” Between the hours of noon and 4 p.m. that day, all customers of Old Town La Verne businesses will receive a gift, discount or other offer free of charge.

Coin-O-Rama

Covina Coin Club’s 38th Annual Coin-O-Rama will be held at the Masonic Temple, located at 50 West Duarte Road in Arcadia, on Sunday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free parking and free admission is available for those who attend the event, and a drawing for a U.S. silver dollar every half hour. At 5 p.m., there will be a drawing for a U.S. five-dollar gold piece. For more information about the event, please contact Don Foster at (626) 447-9483.
