Harvest Festival
The Old Town La Verne Business Improvement District will host the Harvest Festival 2000 and Chili Cookoff tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on D Street between Bonita Avenue and Second Street. Prizes will be handed out during the Chili Cookoff. For information, call (626) 287-8420.
Fall Blood Drive
The American Red Cross Blood Services will be on campus for students who wish to donate blood on Nov. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Old Gym. Walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, contact Maureen Pray at the Health Center at ext. 4254.
Speaker at ULV
Author Luis J. Rodriguez will be speaking on Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Founders Auditorium. Rodriguez will be speaking about being a gang member and how he became successful as a writer.
Pajama Jammy Jam
Sigma Kappa Sorority will have its first Pajama Jammy Jam party on Nov. 10 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Student Center. Students who want to attend must bring sleeping bags and pillows. Free food, music and movies will be provided.
La Vernacula
Students who are interested in having their works published can pick up an application at the Humanities Office in Miller Hall or the Mail Center in the Student Center. The deadline for submitting work is Dec. 8. For more information, call Andrea Labinger at ext. 4357
