‘Tis the season to be… saving? With the holiday shopping season right around the corner, it is more common to be spending instead of saving. However, saving sounds a lot merrier.
The biggest place to find all your shopping needs, for a reasonable cost, is the Pomona flea market. This indoor swap meet, located on Holt Ave. and Indian Hill, is open to the public everyday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but closed on Tuesdays.
Parents can find everything they need for Christmas underneath one roof. They can find toys and baby needs for their young child, clothes for their teenage daughter or son, and high quality jewelry for his or her spouse.
Flea markets sell everything from clothes, hair accessories, kitchen needs, hardware, and garden tools. They even sell food and beverages.
Customer Paige Stevens said, “I go to flea markets every once in awhile, but I always come during the holidays. Why spend more money for gifts somewhere else when you can find almost the same items here for less money? My kids are young. They don’t know the difference between flea market items and department store items.”
Vendor Anna Vargas said, “We always get good business throughout the year, but during Christmas time our business is even better. Although it does get kind of chaotic at times.”
