Tonight, the Swingin’ Deacons, a jump blues band, are performing at the Depot Jazz Series at the Claremont Depot Transit Station in Claremont at 200 W. On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the ULV Chorale and Chamber Singers, along with conductor Scott Farthing, present “Bach’s Lunch,” a concert also featuring Timothy Durkovic on piano and Michael Ryan and Brian Wichert on guitar. Lunch will be available for $5, and showtime is at 11:30 a.m.
Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park has its 29th annual Halloween Haunt begins this weekend. The scarefest runs nights from Oct. 5-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-28, 30-31 and Nov. 2-3. Two major movies open this weekend: “Training Day,” starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, deals with a police officer in training in the inner city. The other movie, “Serendipity,” starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsdale, is the romantic comedy of the weekend.
