Four members of the University of La Verne football team were suspended for two weeks by head coach Don Morel.
Morel said that he could not comment on the specifics surrounding the case other than to say, “They did something really stupid and I suspended them.
“All I can tell you is that they had it coming to them.”
The suspended players, all freshmen, will miss tomorrow’s game against University of Redlands, but Morel said their absence would not negatively affect the team.
“This [suspension] is an excellent opportunity to learn,” he said.
