Shehata is ‘Taking’ the stage

ULV student Bianca Shehata will present Ed Bullins’ The Taking of Miss Janie as part of her Senior Acting Thesis. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at ULV’s Dailey Theatre. Piano works from Argentina

Faculty member Jacqueline Petitto will perform Argentinean piano pieces by Ginastera, Guastavino and Piazzolla, 8 p.m. tonight at Founders Auditorium. General admission is $5 and students are free.

In the mood for some great dixieland jazz? The Royale Garden Dixieland Band will be performing at 7:30 p.m. tonight at La Verne’s coffeehouse, Rico Coffee. You’ll feel as if you were in a New Orleans cafe.

Battle of heaven & hell

If you want action and suspense, “Constantine” is the movie for you. John Constantine, played by Keanu Reeves, helps police detective Angela, played by Rachel Weisz, investigate the suicide death of her twin sister, while at the same time dealing with forces from heaven and hell. Constantine opens nation wide today.
