‘The Message’

The Muslim Student Association will show the film “The Message” at 5 p.m. Friday in the Campus Center Ballroom. The film follows the story of Hamza, the Muslim prophet Moham­mad’s uncle and their struggle in turning people in Mecca away from idolatry and toward Allah. The event will be first come, first served and will include free pizza, snacks and drinks. For more information call 909-513-9785.

H2O

H2O will play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Chain Reaction in Anaheim with openers Alpha & Omega and Downpresser. The tour is in celebration of the band’s 15-year career. The band has released five full length albums and has been featured on a variety of music compilations. For more information visit www.allages.com.

New Found Glory

In celebration of its 10-year anniversary of the band’s self titled album, New Found Glory will play 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Opening bands include Saves the Day, Hellogoodbye and Fireworks.

Bunny Gunner Gallery

The reception for the “Arturo Loya Pinturas” exhibit at Bunny Gunner Gallery in Pomona will be at 6 p.m. Saturday. For more information visit bunnygunner.com.

Cactus Gallery

An art exhibit titled “Decked Out” will hold a reception at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Cactus Gallery in Eagle Rock. The exhibit displays art work done on recycled skateboard decks. For more information visit eclecticcactus.com.

Claremont Art Walk returns in vibrant color

Art lovers and community members visited the art galleries at the Claremont Art Walk on Saturday. The event, which had been on hiatus due to COVID, is held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. the first Saturdays of each month in the heart of the Claremont Village. It showcases art, photography, artisans’ crafts, live music and more.
