After an exhaustive national search, University officials announced this week the appointment of Myra Garcia as vice president of advancement.
Garcia, who will replace retiring Jean Bjerke, will take the helm June 1, or sooner.
Garcia most recently served as vice president of institutional advancement at Wagner College in New York City, the same college ULV President Devorah Lieberman left to take her post here in 2011.
“I believe there’s an excitement felt among us for what Myra Garcia will bring to our office and what we do,” Alisha Rosas, interim director of public relations said.
Garcia has previous experience with private consulting and development positions at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and a master’s degree from Seton Hall.
