LVPD investigates sexual assault

The La Verne Police Department is currently investigating a sexual assault that occurred Sept. 24 in La Verne.

On Monday Loretta Rahmani, dean of student affairs, sent an email to the University of La Verne community informing the campus of the assault and asking for any information.

According to the email, the assault involved a former student attacking a current undergraduate student near the La Verne campus.

The victim reported the assault to the LVPD and was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital, Rahmani’s email said.

The La Verne Police Department declined a reporter request to release the police report or comment by publication deadline.
