There will be a talk and reception for the exhibit “100 Years of Dust: Owens Lake and the Los Angeles Aqueduct” by Jennifer Little about the Owens Valley Landscape at 6 p.m Thursday at the Carlson Gallery in Miller Hall.
Jazz Improv
Jazz vocalist and painter Kathy Kosins will be accompanied by the University of La Verne’s faculty jazz band in an improvisation show at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in Morgan Auditorium. The faculty jazz band is composed of Steve Alaniz, Reed Gratz, Andrew Ford and Bob Dominguez.
‘Chalk Boy’
The theater department production “The Chalk Boy” by Joshua Conkel will open at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Jane Dibbell Cabaret. There will be four performances. The theater operates on a “pay what you can” policy.
Art Demos
The Art Classic at the Los Angeles County Fair will hold art demonstrations by 10 contemporary artists. The Art Classic will be featured until Sunday, when the Fair ends.
Free Festival
The city of San Dimas will host the San Dimas Western Days and Music Festival. It is a two-day festival from Oct. 3-4, which will feature free music and a dance. For this year’s complete lineup and schedule, visit sandimaschamber.com
Photo Contest
