Valentine cheers with Ring Pop proposal

Senior business major Jan Pfennings proposes to his girlfriend, University of La Verne alumna Elizabeth Iaquinto, with a ring pop, Feb. 12 in the Johnson Family Plaza. After the proposal the couple’s relationship was officiated by the University Cheer Squad with a ceremony that included a veil, bouquet and bubbles. The mock wedding was a fundraiser put on by the Cheer Squad where couples, or friends, could ratify their relationship with packages that ranged from $1 to $10 that included a certificate, ring pop and Polaroid picture. / photo by Brooke Grasso
