Painter Aida Lugo works at the La Explosión Latina event Saturday in Sneaky Park. Hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusivity and the Center for Multicultural Services, the event celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month through Latinx arts and culture, and included live music, theater readings, art stands, bilingual slam poetry, salsa dance instruction and food. Lugo said she paints at events not only to showcase her art, but because painting in front of people inspires her to do what she loves. / photo by Celeste Drake
