Evacuation follows alleged theft attempt

On Monday, an apparent attempted theft led to the evacuation of the Sports Science and Athletics Pavilion.

According to a report issued by Campus Safety, the La Verne Police Department searched and evacuated the Pavilion as a precaution, since they believed that the suspect fled across Arrow Highway.

Police officers ordered students, faculty and staff to clear their classrooms and offices immediately.

The alleged attempted theft took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. Students and faculty were allowed to return to the facility at around 3:15 p.m.
