More than 100 runners participated in the seventh annual 5K Homecoming Fun Run Saturday.

The event, sponsored by the Athletic Training Student Club, was a fundraiser to help send athletic training students to conferences around the country. 

“We have a lot of alumni that continue to come back every year to do this,” said Ricardo Escobedo, senior athletic training major and Athletic Training Student Club vice president. 

The run was also was supported by corporate sponsors including Baskin Robbins, Continental Realty, Maggie Mae Photography and the Ortmayer-Harrison family.

“I thought what a great activity it was to bring my kids out too and bring them out to the La Verne community,” said alumna Leah Wissink.

Ryan Hoffman, senior history and political science major came in first place.
