Photographer Reynaldo Rivera, whose work includes underground fashion and Latinx gay bars, addresses questions Tuesday at Scripps College. Rivera displayed his work in a slide show and discussed the content of his upcoming book, “Disappearing Los Angeles.” He focuses on Los Angeles in the 1980s and 1990s and provides an intimate look at queer and drag culture during this era. Cheap rents, house parties, eclectic fashion, and a trio of Latinx gay bars inspired majority of his work rooted in Los Angeles. / photo by Kayla Salas
