‘New Histories’

The Harris Gallery on campus will showcase “New Histories,” an exhibit covering social and political themes through painting and sculpture by interweaving abstract shapes and juxtaposing colors. The exhibit will run through Oct. 28. Gallery hours 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Thursday.

‘Furious Garden’

“Furious Garden” will be on view at the Claremont Museum of Art through Nov. 27. The exhibition will feature paintings and sculptures with contemporary interpretations of vegetation. Admission is $5. For more information, visit claremontmuseum.org.

‘Mind + Matter’ Exhibit

“Mind + Matter: Five Bay Area Sculptors’’ is an art exhibit on view through Jan. 23. at the American Museum of Ceramic Art which explores pop culture through abstract representations. The exhibit includes the work of Robert Brady, Arthur Gonzalez, Beverly Mayeri, Nancy Selvin and Richard Shaw. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Due to limited capacity, reservations are required. Last entry will be at 3 p.m. Admission is $5. For reservations and more information, visit amoca.org.

Cal Poly Pomona pumpkin festival

Cal Poly Pomona will have a pumpkin festival that will feature a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, children’s maze, hay rides and contests. Tickets will only be sold online at cpp.edu. Tickets for adults will be $8 and children under the age of three will have free admission. Children ranging from 3-12 will be $6. The festival will run all through October, Wednesdays to Sundays with varying prices depending on the day.
