Symphony Orchestra Concert
The University of La Verne Symphony Orchestra will host a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday in Morgan Auditorium. The orchestra will present performances of music from composers Arturo Marquez and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Masks are required at entry. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
Gospel Choir Concert
The newly-formed University of La Verne Gospel Choir, featuring members of the ULV faculty and staff, will perform its inaugural concert, “Oh, Holy Night,” at 5 p.m. Monday in Morgan Auditorium. Face covering are required for everyone attending, regardless of vaccination status.
‘Reflections’ Art Exhibition
The art department presents the works of this year’s graduating senior studio art majors in an exhibit called “Reflections” at the Harris Gallery. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the exhibit runs through Jan. 28.
‘If You Can Read the Ocean’
“If You Can Read the Ocean You Will Never be Lost,” a photography exhibit by Associate Professor of Photography Shannon Benine, is on display in the Irene Carlson Gallery in Miller Hall through Dec. 17.
‘Legacy and Legend’
Sadie Barnette’s exhibit, “Legacy and Legend,” is on display at the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College in Claremont. The exhibit explores the Black Panthers, a Black resistance group from the 1960s, and it connects the themes of social justice to familial ties through drawings and other media. ‘Mind + Matter’ Exhibit
“Mind + Matter: Five Bay Area Sculptors’’ is on view through Jan. 23. at the American Museum of Ceramic Art which explores pop culture through abstract representations. The exhibit includes the work of Robert Brady, Arthur Gonzalez, Beverly Mayeri, Nancy Selvin and Richard Shaw. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
