Writing Contest

The creative writing program is holding a creative writing contest for currently enrolled University of La Verne undergraduates who have not previously won. There is only one submission per author. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and publication in the Prism Review. The Submission deadline is March 1. For more information, contact Sean Bernard at sbernard@laverne.edu.

Hiroshima Exhibit

Pitzer College will host “Each Day Begins with the Sun Rising: Four Artists from Hiroshima,” featuring Japanese artists Megumi Fukuda, Taro Furukata, Genki Isayama and Kana Kou. It explores the effects of World War II on the Japanese psyche and overall culture. The exhibit will run through June 25 and admission is free.

Candlelight Jubilee

The Candlelight Pavilion Theater will celebrate 37 years of performances with the “Candlelight Jubilee” show. It runs through March 20. Admission varies. For more information visit candlelightpavilion.com.

Inner Wave Concert

The Los Angeles based band Inner Wave will perform at The Glass House in Pomona at 7 p.m. Feb. 25. Admission for all ages is $21. Part of admission will go toward supporting Our Music My Body, a campaign to raise awareness about sexual misconduct in the music industry. Vaccination cards and masks are required upon entry.

Ontario Art Walk

The monthly Ontario Art Walk will happen from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at 211-223 W. Emporia St. and 119 Transit St., in Ontario. Admission is free.
