‘Vantage Point’

The department of art and art history is showcasing “Vantage Point,” an exhibition of the 2022 senior art projects. The exhibition will run until Dec. 14 in the Harris Gallery on campus. Admission is free. For more information, visit artsci.laverne.edu/art/exhibition/vantage-point.


The Ground Floor Gallery in Miller Hall is featuring “Homebound,” a group exhibition of student photography. The show  is curated by Maxwell Sierra and includes work by Ethan Bermudez, Armida Norma Carranza, Kaylie Ennis, Drake Ingram, Robyn J’Nai Jones, Darcelle Jones-Wesley, Chris Rogers, Maxwell Sierra and Kimberly Toth.  

The exhibit runs through Dec. 16. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

‘Speedway 1972’

The University’s Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography is showing Henry Horenstien’s “Speedway 1972,” documenting the Thompson Speedway in Thompson, Connecticut. The exhibit runs through Jan. 20, and the gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is in Miller Hall on campus. 

‘Transformations in Glass’

The Claremont Lewis Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition “Transformations in Glass: Vitreous Funk, Fantasy, and Light,” which features the work of glass artists who were influenced by the Claremont art community during a pivotal time in their artistic development. The gallery of blown-glass objects, sculptures, mosaics, and works in neon is open from noon to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday, at the Claremont Depot at 200 W. First St. next to the Metrolink Station. The show runs through Feb. 5, 2023.

The Haven

Indigo, Saint Luna and Sakkaris will perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight at The Haven at 296 W. Second Street in Pomona. General admission is $11.50.

Archer Oh

Archer Oh, a new wave indie surf rock band, will perform at 8 p.m. tonight at The Glass House at 200 W. Second St. in Pomona. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Bachata Lessons

Evie Dance Studio offers beginner bachata dance lessons from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 275 E. Second St. in Pomona. No partner is needed, and dancers are encouraged to wear comfortable attire. Tickets and fees are $20.19 online. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Ground Zero Open Mic

Stand-up comedian Zero Rimpson will host an open mic from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight at Shaun Diamond Plaza, 197 W. Second St. in downtown Pomona. Admission is free.
