‘small seas’

The Harris Gallery is showcasing a new exhibit, “small seas” featuring work by artist Liat Yossifor. The exhibit captures the cerebral and figurative elements that seem to emerge from liminal peripheries or subconscious states. The show runs through May 11. The Harris Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday or by appointment. Admission is free.

‘Queer Clay’

American Museum of Ceramic Art’s second major exhibit in the “Making in Between” series, “Queeer Clay,” will feature artists’ intersectional work exploring common identity and cultural themes among the LGBTQ+ community. The opening reception will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and the exhibit will run until Dec. 30. AMOCA is located at 399 N. Garey Ave. in Pomona.

‘What You Carry’

An exhibit by artist Sarah Meyer, “What You Carry: A Sabbatical Exhibition,” is open until June 1 at Kellogg University Art Gallery at Cal Poly Pomona. Meyer hiked and backpacked to seemingly forgotten places and observed the cultural stewardship of open spaces. Using only what she can carry, she provides an intimate window into the wild places that connect people to the natural world. Using diffused colors and the written form, the culmination is an interdisciplinary body of work that chronicles the plein air experience and poetically maps Meyer’s internal transformation as a designer. The Kellogg University Art Gallery is located at 3801 W. Temple Ave. Building 35A in Pomona. For information, visit cpp.edu/huntley-gallery
