‘Making in Between: Queer Clay’
The American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona explores broader influences on identity and centers on queerness by living unapologetically yourself with their exhibition “Making in Between: Queer Clay.” With solely queer artists, the ceramic art is used as another form of self expression. ‘Revolución Visual – Visual Revolution’
The dA Center for the Arts is holding its grand opening event for the exhibition “Revolución Visual – Visual Revolution” that tells a visual story about Chicano and LatinX resistance from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Sunday. Pieces from collector Jaime Gutierrez and curator Yasmin Cardona will be displayed with featured musician Gerardo Morales and featured poet Linette Luna Tovar. Admission is free. Glass House
Pomona’s intimate concert venue and vinyl record shop presents Soul Glo and Zulu from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday with the doors opening at 7 p.m. Soul Glo and Zulu are hardcore punk bands whose music results in mosh pits, lost voices and ringing ears. ‘Espíritu Flamenco’
Ophelia’s Jump Productions, the non-profit regional theater company based in Claremont and Upland, will put on its annual Hispanic Heritage Month event at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Casa Calaycay in Claremont. “Espíritu Flamenco” celebrates the Flamenco spirit with world class Flamenco dance, music, and song.
