The University of La Verne Dance Team hosted a showcase last Friday in the Campus Center Ballrooms.
There were 15 performers, and most also had a hand in the show’s choreography.
The show opened with “Party Girl,” which was choreographed by Michael Gonzalez.
Next was “The Calico Trio” choreographed by Bre Bogan, then came “Pasion” choreographed by Ana Gonzalez.
Among the 15 total dance pieces were five solo dances featuring Gonzalez, Kevlyn Martinez, Jeniyah McCarty and seniors Alex Soltero and Emily Saldivar.
Other dances included, “From a Woman,” choreographed by Janai Johnson and Alexis Deleon; “Where Did You Go?” choreographed by McCarty; “Conceited,” choreographed by Johnson, Deleon, Paola Gamboa and Caesar Lopez; “Long Way to Go,” choreographed by Taylor Fukunaga; and “So Long, London,” choreographed by Emily Saldivar.
“When I hear a piece of music as a dancer, and it really speaks to me, Imagine the choreography when I am listening to the song,” Saldivar said.
The last piece before the finale was set to “Reign Game” and was choreographed by Fukunaga.
All the dancers took the stage for the finale.
