The Graduate and Adult Student Government at the University of La Verne welcomed back students on Sept. 4 at Barbara’s Place Patio with an event designed to connect adult learners with resources available to them on campus.

The resources highlighted were geared specifically toward adult learners, many of whom work fulltime and care for family while attending school.

Representatives from Counseling and Psychological Services were on hand to let these students know about free therapy sessions. Representatives from the Randall Lewis Center for Health and Well-Being also were there to talk about exercise, wellness classes and more at the Center. Free financial counseling is also available to these students, they learned.

Just like traditional aged undergraduates, adult students need support and connections to stay focused on their academic and professional goals, event coordinators said.
