The Grand National Truck Show was on at the Fairplex on Sept. 26 and 27, for truck owners to display their prized vehicles for truck enthusiasts.
The event had both an outdoor and an indoor display, with more than 70 trucks in all, in a variety of vintage and new trucks, including Volkswagens, Fords and more.
This year’s show introduced the inaugural “World’s Most Beautiful Truck Award,” which went to Larry Jancito for his blue 1941 Willy’s Pickup Truck. It had a shiny blue paint job and leather interior. It also had a custom 1946 Chevy truck bed and tailgate.
“I love trucks,” said event guest Keith Riley, who lives in Corona. “I’ve had trucks since I graduated from college over 40 years ago. I enjoy seeing what folks have done as far as customization. It’s never ceased to amaze me how creative people are.”
Besides trucks, the event offered a BMX trick riding demonstration and food, including Pink’s Hot Dogs, nachos and lemonade.
Vendors sold truck-related stuff, including tires and trucker hats.
