Claremont residents gathered Monday night at Memorial Park for the closing concert in the city’s eight-week summer concert series.
Monday’s show featured the classic rock cover band “The Answer,” a Southern California group that has been performing since 1999.
Many in the audience wore “The Answer” flair. Most sat on the grass while others danced near the stage.
The crowd became especially lively when the band played Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ la Vida Loca,” with more getting up and dancing in front of the stage.
The band thanked the crowd throughout the night and showed its appreciation for the big turnout.
The free summer concert series, an annual Claremont thing, featured a different genre of music each week.
The concerts also relied on support from local organizations, including the Kiwanis Club of Claremont, which provided concessions throughout the series.
Claremont residents Frida and Eliseu Palomino were among the crowd Monday.
“It gives me a chance to leave the house and breathe some fresh air,” Frida Palomino said.“This is the biggest and the best turnout for the last event of the concert series.”
