From Aug. 19 to Aug. 23, the University of La Verne hosted welcome week, a week-long event for new students hosted by the Campus Activities Board.
Events included “Leo Time,” a breakfast event, “Inside Out 2” movie night, “Pawprints and Play,” complete with dogs to pet for stress relief, and “Murder Mystery Inc,” a spooky participatory game.
Another popular event was “Into the Leo World,” a Coraline-themed activity with a moss-making kit, and a Coraline shirt giveaway.
“It’s … a good way to forget about the stress with having to deal with the first week of college,” Savanna Mzuri, freshman anthropology major said. “(It was ) flexible timing with the events to just stop by and check it out..”.
“I think it was a great way to meet new people,” Roxane Olivera, freshman chemistry major, said.
