With Fall Break just a week away, the Glo and Grow event put on by the Campus Activities Board was a health and wellness focused break for students to de-stress from midterms and more.

From noon till 2 p.m. Monday on Citrus Lawn, students were hung out and got to take part in the event’s various free food options, giveaways and activities.

About 50 students in all attended.

With poke bowls, açaí bowls, midterm survival kits and a photo booth, students could choose healthy food options and capture memories with friends.

Alejandra Muratalla, junior business administration major and health and wellness chair for CAB, said she wanted the event to be a refreshing break to hang out.

“It’s the week before fall break, and I wanted to create a space where students could come and listen to music and enjoy time with friends outside of a classroom setting.” Muratalla said.

CAB events, Muratalla said, are uniquely created by each member and reflect their personalities and aesthetics.

“These events always have something going on,” Muratalla said. “Especially all kinds of freebies.”

“Our main purpose and goal is to create events that aren’t academic related,” said Abby Branaman, freshman computer science major and CAB member. “We want to bring that work-life balance.”

“It feels really good to be paid attention to,” said freshman Maria Sanchez, who attended Glo and Grow.

“I also love the fact that these events are open to everyone,” Sanchez added.

“I don’t like raw fish, so I was excited to see that they had açai bowls,” said Harmony Rocha, freshman education major.
