The ULV Communications Department is hosting about 100 high school and community college students for Communications Day today.
The ULV print shop and mail room will be relocated to the old packing house on the southwest corner of First and D Streets. According to Brian Worley, supervisor of buildings and grounds, the move will be completed by mid-December.
“It was an honor,” is how Debbie Pfeiffer, part-time journalism instructor, describes what it felt like to be named “Woman of The Year” by the Baldwin Park Business & Professional Women’s Club last month. She was presented with the award and a proclamation by the major at a formal dinner.
“We are extra eyes,” is the way Vince Caballero, a senior, describes his duties as a security officer at the University of La Verne. “We protect the staff, faculty and students, and ULV property.”

“Partnership ’91,” ULV ‘s five-year centennial fundraiser, ended June 30, with $13 million in gifts and donations received by the University. The campaign started out in 1986 with a goal of $8.8 million, which was raised to $11 million in 1989.
