ULV sorority helps students learn about safe sex

Iota Delta sorority invited John Bartelt, professor of education technology, and Linda Bartelt, senior adjunct professor of education, to learn and discuss safe sex through a lecture and Kahoot games at its Latex or No Sex event held online on April 14.

Greek life faces recruitment challenges thanks to pandemic and virtual setting

Sororities and fraternities’ spring recruitment numbers were significantly lower than last year due to the virtual setting as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic this past February.

Recruitment is the most important time of the year for sororities on any campus at any school. This is the period where we potentially welcome new members into our organizations. Usually, we compete with other sororities on campus, but this year our biggest competition was the pandemic. 

Black fraternity Iota Phi Theta to launch at ULV

Three years ago Sigma Gamma Rho became the first historically black sorority with a chapter on campus. Soon Iota Phi Theta will likely be the University’s first historically black fraternity.
