Kyeesha “Mika” Makekau, a senior at ‘Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii, is soon to become not just the newest kicker for the University of La Verne football team, but the first female football player in team history as well.
The La Verne football team has a new play caller on offense; first year special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach Miguel Reveles was promoted last month to offensive coordinator.
The University of La Verne inducted eight former student-athletes, as well as the entire 1981 women’s volleyball national championship team, into the Athletics Hall of Fame at a ceremony Saturday at Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center.
