Baseball opens up season with win

The La Verne Leopards baseball team began their season by defeating the Lewis and Clark Pioneers, 11-8, Saturday at Ben Hines Field after an early finish due to electric problems.

Baseball splits doubleheader with Claremont

The La Verne baseball team concluded regular season play splitting doubleheader with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday. The Leopards took the victory in game one, 9-2, while the Stags bounced back in game two to win, 5-2.It was also Senior Day for the Leopards, as they celebrated the careers of 13 players with a pregame ceremony.

Winterburn to be permanent athletic director

Scott Winterburn, who has served as Interim Athletic Director for the past two years will be the permanent AD, University officials announced this week.
