The $4 million project of refurbishing Ortmayer Stadium has been long awaited. For onlookers now it looks like a huge dirt field – but soon that dirt field will become home to all of La Verne’s field sports.

The football team ended the 2011 season on Saturday on a high note by beating Whittier in a closely contested game, 24-20. With the win over the Poets, the Leopards finished the season with its best record since 2005.
In dominant fashion, the football team cruised to a 52-7 victory over the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
Homecoming for the football team Saturday was very welcoming as the Leopards walked away with a convincing 30-21 victory over Chapman.
Coming off a great win over Occidental, the football team rolled into Saturday’s game looking to emulate that success and earn a win over Cal Lutheran but came up short and suffered a 52-17 defeat.
The Leopard football team beat the Occidental Tigers, 30-21, in an away game to earn its first win of the season.
Despite displaying a much-improved performance, the La Verne Leopards dropped their conference opener to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 20-17.
If it wasn’t for the football players walking around in their jerseys, or the cheerleaders walking around with their pom poms, one might have mistaken the pep rally for a party with the blasting hip-hop music presented by Power 106 and DJ Nibblez.
