Students skeptical of plan to move interterm from January to May

University of La Verne administrators have rebooted the plan to eliminate the January term and replace it with a similar month-long May term.

Canceled classes create stress

The beginning of the new semester brought an air of uncertainty and fear among students, as well as faculty, as they learned many classes had been canceled, while others were turned to directed studies, which appear in the class schedule without a designated meeting time or classroom.

I am a graduate of the University of La Verne and have been an adjunct faculty here for 23 years. My brother and daughter both are graduates of ULV and the school has long held, as the school song says, “a dear favored spot in our hearts.” With this in mind, I am writing to bring to light what I feel is a serious issue at the University.
