Claremont-Mudd-Scripps ended La Verne’s playoff hopes by beating the Leopards, 2-0, Sunday in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament at Campus West.
The La Verne softball team broke its three-game winning streak Saturday after losing the second game of a doubleheader to Pomona-Pitzer, 7-5, at Campus West.
The Leopards went into the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament on a high after their last conference win, making them SCIAC champions for the second year in a row. The team only lost one game throughout the weekend, ending the tournament 4-1.
The Leopards have claimed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title for the second year in a row, after facing Redlands Saturday at Campus West. They swept the Bulldogs in their ninth conference championship appearance.
