La Verne won a three-game series against Whittier, defeating the Poets, 8-2, on March 6 at Palmer Field, and then splitting a doubleheader Saturday at Campus West, winning game one, 5-3, before dropping game two, 14-11.
Softball preps for season with alumni scrimmage
The Leopards’ softball team defeated a team of alumni, 2-0, Saturday at Campus West. They celebrated 60 years of softball at La Verne with a four-inning scrimmage, home run derby and hit-a-thon event.
