ASF and the Lordsburg Union Debate Society sponsored a presentation Thursday, Oct. 14, in the Quad. Palden Gyatso, an ordained Tibetan monk, spoke of his 33-year imprisonment by the Chinese government. Throughout the imprisonment he endured severe torture such as electric shocks and having boiling water poured over his head. Monk speaks about imprisonment

Palden Gyatso, a Tibetan Buddhist monk who has spent 33 years in Chinese captivity, came to the University of La Verne last Thursday to heighten awareness about Tibet’s plight and the atrocities he insists the Chinese are committing against the Tibetan people.
