As the tram cuts through branches of dried plants and proceeds through the shade of the redwood trees in the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, visitors begin to feel that this garden is not like any other.
What better way to discover the fascinating lives and habitat of birds than to see, touch and hear about it first hand. On Sunday the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens hosted its Annual Family Bird Fest in Claremont.

The University of La Verne has named Kathy Duncan, professor of management, as the interim dean for the University of La Verne College of Health and Community Well-Being. Duncan will take the helm on Jan. 1.
